OUR STORY

When Jonathon was a toddler his parents noticed that he was double jointed and more flexible than other kids his age. His earliest  dislocation occurred at the age of 3 and during his high school years he suffered numerous dislocations and subluxations of the knees, hips and jaw which interfered with basketball and mixed martial arts.

In 2016 Jonathon was diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos syndrome and in 2019 he underwent MPFL knee reconstruction, in all he has had 7 surgeries related to EDS.

Ehlers Danlos syndrome is a connective tissue disorder. People with this disorder lack collagen in their DNA which leaves their tendons and ligaments with little elasticity.

A year later Jonathon's daughter Storm was diagnosed with EDS as well.  Seeing EDS is a connective tissue disorder it can affect a plethora of areas in the body.  Storm had a capsular shift procedure on her shoulder to tighten up the joint which medical professionals were hoping would last for at least 9 years.  The surgery failed 3 months later. EDS has affected her digestive system and is responsible for her drastic weight loss from where she's went from 170 to 112 lbs., she also struggles with rib, ankle, hips, jaw, wrist and finger dislocations and subluxations. Storm and Jonathon are now patient's at The Mayo clinic in Jacksonville Florida where the family frequents.
